George Clooney will be the man of the hour at next year's Golden Globes
George is set to recieve the Cecil B. DeMille Accolade
at the ceremony on January 11, 2015. The 52-year-old actor has been
chosen for his outstanding contributions both in front of and behind the
camera.
The Cecil B. DeMille Award is an honorary Golden Globe Award bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment". It was first presented on February 21, 1952 at the 9th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony and is named in honor of its first recipient, director Cecil B. DeMille.
The
soon-to-be-married movie superstar already has four Golden Globes
awards below his belt for "The Descendants", "Argo", "Seriana" and "Oh
Brother Where Art Thou".
Previous winners known for making a strong impact in the world of entertainment would include Woody Allen, Morgan Freeman, Robert DeNeiro and most recently Jane Foster who came out as gay at her acceptance speech.
As for George, he may address his by then trophy in th epresence of his new bride Amal Alamuddin
He
did something similar during his acceptance speech at the "Celebrity
Fight Night" last week in Italy where he said on stage, "...in closing, I
would just like to tell my bride-to-be Amal that I love you very much
and I can't wait to be your husband."
