We need relationships to thrive. We are social beings (not to be mistaken for 'party animals'!) and we seek, even strongly yearn for companionship, love and friendship. We grow within the edicts of our relationships and as a result, they end up defining who we really are. There definitely are laws that govern the nature of a relationship - any relationship. Some of them are universal

The Senior special assistant equally gave the sum of N200,000 each to 61 parents out of the 122 that came on the visit. 61 parents were given N100,000 each on the basis that the money given to them was not enough to go round at the agreed amount of N200,000 each. The remaining parents were not given any money at all" he said

Johannesburg News: Woman Goes Unclad And Stands By Nelson Mandela’s Giant Statue (See Photos)

Social media was abuzz on Tuesday with people trying to find the identity of a woman who stripped naked at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton on Monday afternoon and caressed the Madiba statue.

According to bystanders, the woman walked around the square, took off her pink dress, white bra and pink G-string panties, then proceeded to embrace the statue, leading to bystanders taking pictures and posting them on social media.

A waitress from Bagliso restaurant said the woman had caused a frenzy, leading to some of the male waiters getting their orders wrong and a male customer getting hit on the head by his wife for getting up to take a closer look.

Waiters on duty commented on the act.

Angel (not her real name) said the woman was an embarrassment to African women. “I was disgusted actually. A woman’s body is God’s temple. She should not just go and strip for the public, she should do things like that for her man. She had a flat ass for a African woman.”

Bagliso chef Khotso Tladi shared the same sentiments. “She didn’t have a nice body, everything was saggy and she had hair. Afroman was better.”

Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square regional marketing manager Megan Meas said the management was aware of the incident. “This was an unauthorised incident conducted by a private citizen in her personal capacity on our property,” she said.

Meas said that at about 4pm on Monday a woman had arrived on the square, observed the statue for a few minutes and saluted it. She then proceeded to undress and moved closer to the statue.

Meas said the security guard had immediately requested that she put on her clothes, which she did. But she refused to answer any questions and left at about 4.17pm.

She said the woman was not apprehended and they did not know her whereabouts.

Iyanya speaks about Wizkid and Davido’s fight on Twitter, See what he said about it!

Pop star, Iyanya Mbuk and comedian, Wale Gate have waded into the ongoing ‘social media war’ between singers,Wizkid and Davido.

The squabble between the two music stars started few days back with what looked like a harmless tweet from Wizkid followed with a cold and not-so friendly tweet from Davido.
Although, the duo did not mention their names in the tweet, fans are aware that they are at loggerheads, and are already making their meals out of the quarrel that is best described as cold war.
Responding to the issue, the Kukere crooner took to his Instagram page hours ago and wrote:
“Stop talking!!! Let’s release more MUSIC!!! Let’s entertain Our Fans!!! Stop The Hate!!! My Prayer is that we ALL make it”

Comedian, Wale Gate, also tweeted “Sometimes you wish these artistes learn a little from the past, open beef between artistes is one of the fastest ways to kill a flourishing career. The problem with beef is that it starts to affect the type of music you make, from making feel good happy music, you start writing ‘war’ songs. I have been around long enough to know it is pointless and an unnecessary distraction, only the media gains, not even your fans”

How Do I Handle Being Rejected?

Rejection. Now isn't that a word that many of us can relate to?
Be it work, relationships or, family... Does it really have to be negative for us? I mean think about it; the meaning of the word as per the dictionary is: throw away, cast aside, refuse to take, turn down, discarded, and refused. Almost every word points towards the negative.
So can we be blame ourselves when feeling wretched about being rejected? No. It goes against every fiber of our being. It can attribute to sending people nuts, them changing completely, having them change their life around and a whole number of extreme changes in a persons' life.
I have lost count of how many times I've been rejected in my life. Being rejected by the person I loved the most in my life, really broke me (I'm still learning how to put myself back together again). Yes it caused me to want to relocate or disappear though in the end it prompted me to change me ways.
Despite the fact, the negative after effects of being rejected continues to linger in my heart, affecting how I see myself. It hurts. Though I know my worth, I Do doubt it at times. The different things that I've read about rejection include; yes it's your fault, No it has nothing to do with you, tell yourself: 'list of steps', meditate etc..
It's easy having people tell you what to do, yet sometimes at the end of the day when you're left to deal with your persistent thoughts, feelings and emotions, putting it into effect is something different entirely.
For some, following directions when it comes to their heart and feelings is easy. For others like myself, not so much. You know how when we have a problem; we wish the solution would be handed to us on a plate? Well most of the time it isn't that simple. This is one of those instances.
For some of us, things can seem so hard yet somewhere along the line things usually turn out to be 'OK' in the end. After all the mistakes made and wrong turns taken, we somehow end up finding our way in the end, don't we? Why? Because the answer was within us all along.
Our bodies and hearts are actually wired to 'get us through it' somehow. What I can tell you is that it's a good thing to feel the emotions that you do. Yes they're hard and painful at times. They can push us to wanting to suppress the pain. Instead of suppressing it, how about allowing it to guide you into the direction you need/want to take? Don't lie to yourself nor feel obligated to ignore how you feel or go with the crowd, Be You! Do You!
You have the ability to pull through whatever it is you go through in life. Rejection is another hurdle that needs to be overcome though it does deeply affect us. Have patience, remain true to yourself and I'd bet anything that in the end you won't go wrong. Your feelings and emotions are Yours to experience as you do. Don't feel 'wrong' for doing so.
All the best... Jay.

Revealed: Gov. Amosun’s Secret Letter Reveals Genesis of Conflict with Osoba

A letter by Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, directed to one of his predecessor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, has revealed the genesis of the intractable conflict, which ruptured the relationship between the two leaders.

Consequent upon the disagreement between the two leaders, investigation by THISDAY revealed that Osoba’s group, comprising three senators and nine members of the House of Representatives, had concluded plans to defect to Social Democratic Party  (SDP) after the Osun State governorship election.

Likewise, a group of political actors from different political parties in the state including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) among others, had secretly created a body named ‘Amosun Must Go’ (AMG) due to what they allegedly ascribed to the governor’s high-handedness.

But the letter, which Amosun personally authored and dated January 23, 2011, also revealed that the incumbent governor had long been plotting to undermine Osoba’s influence in the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) before the party finally fused into All Progressives Congress (APC).
The letter, which was titled: ‘Ogun State ACN Candidates and Electoral Fortunes in April 2011 general election,’ expressed Amosun’s disapproval of the candidates that contested various legislative elections.

But the candidates who contested the legislative elections were said to have emerged and their names already sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before Amosun formally defected to the defunct ACN late 2010.

In the nine-page letter, Amosun disagreed with the process of picking the party’s candidates, claiming that he should be given opportunity to make some input being the party’s governorship candidate. He argued in the letter that the process of picking candidates “should be based more on electoral value and acceptability of aspirants as it is only through such process that can lead to emergence of candidates that enjoy the confidence and support of the broad segment of party’s members.”

Amosun further expressed concerns that the process of selecting candidates for three senatorial and nine House of Representatives slots were shrouded in so much secrecy that he had to depend on information picked bits and pieces from different sources within and outside the party.
He noted: “Unlike the House of Assembly candidates, whose election held the same day with his election, we cannot afford to be indifferent to the National Assembly candidates, who are the lighthouse to the general elections.”

But a source in the Osoba group said the party leaders did not approve Amosun’s suggestion to reverse the candidacy of Senator Gbenga Obadara (Ogun Central), Sen. Gbenga Kaka (Ogun East) and Senator Akin Odunsi among others because the candidates had emerged before Amosun’s formal defection. The source added that Amosun only agreed to the candidacy of Hon. Olumide Osoba, who is the biological son of the former governor, among the candidates that emerged for the House of Representatives.

The source explained that Amosun had been working “to undermine the influence of Osoba in the defunct ACN immediately after he defected to the party, perhaps because he worked with his immediate predecessor, Mr. Gbenga Daniel, against the former governor in the 2003 governorship elections.”

The source said Amosun had no reason “to fight Osoba because his position as the state governor is not threatened. He came from the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), used our structure and party platforms. Amosun is simply fighting unnecessary battle, which may affect APC in the State.
“Amosun now plans to replace Obadara with Mr. Lanre Tejuosho who came with him from the ANPP, Senator Gbenga Kaka with the Managing Director of Independent Communications Network Limited (Publishers of The News Magazine and P.M. News), Mr. Bayo Onanuga and Senator Akin Odunsi with Senator Iyabo Anisulowo.

“In 2011, Amosun promoted Mr. Lekan Abiola, a son of the winner of June 12, 1993, presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, on the platform of ANPP against Osoba’s son. He should be asked why he is not friendly with three senators and nine members of the House of Representatives from the state.”
The source, therefore, blamed the APC national leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, for the crisis between Osoba and Amosun, noting that Tinubu had been supporting him against the popular interests in the state.

Of the nine House of Assembly slots ceded to him in 2011, the source said Amosun won four while those in the camp of Osoba won all their slots, thereby wondering why Amosun should complain about electoral value of the candidates that emerged from the group of former governor.
The source debunked Amosun’s claims that he spent N7 billion on his election, noting that the governor only contributed N70 million to the then ACN out of the N350 million he promised to contribute.

According to ReportGhanaNews, the Pastor(pictured above) was preaching to his congregation on a Sunday morning then he ask people with health problems to stand up and come close to touch a specific place on his body for healing.

While everyone was touching the Pastor’s head, shoes and shoulder; this woman, a bishop of same congregation decided to hold the pastor’s priv’ates for healing.
The Pastor ask why she hold his priv’ates and the woman said, “her husband pen*s is not working anymore so she believes when she hold the Pastor’s pen*s, her husband’s would be healed.” Then the pastor shouted, hallelujah somebody. Can you blame the lady, wasn’t she obeying simple instruction?

See the top 10 hottest Nigerian artistes right now (Look)

The nigerian music scene has witnessed a phenomenal boost in recent times and yes, we can go head to head with the best of them worldwide… dare say. Our music is being heard across continents and our artistes can boast of having performed at international concerts and also sold-out shows.

In continuation of our Top10 franchise, tooX brings to your reading pleasure, its list of the Top10 hottest Nigerian artistes as of now. Of course we cannot possibly fit the vast amount of highly talented musicians into 10 slots and so, we have selected 10 artistes that have become household names based on their singles within the first half of 2014.

10. D’BANJ: To wrap up this list, is Kokomaster aka Eja nla aka Kiniwin funfun aka Bangalee, D’Banj. Since the success of Oliver Twist in 2012, it’s become really difficult to forget D’Banj. Although it’s uncertain what has become of his music career since leaving the now disbanded Mo’Hits crew, Dapo Oyebanjo has found other ways to make the news. He formed his own music label DB Records which already is home to his kid brother, Kay Switch as well as new acts like Tonto Dikeh and producers, 2Kriss and DeeVee. He also bagged an ambassadorial position with the United Nations in the agricultural sector and received the patent to produce Kokogarri. D’Banj was also proud winner for Best Selling African Artiste award at this year’s World Music Awards and then there was the buzz that his song Bother You gathered, being the original soundtrack for the movie - Half Of a Yellow Sun

9. YEMI ALADE: From Peak Talent Hunt, a gem was discovered and polished till it gleamed. After emerging first in the hunt, Yemi entered the hallowed halls of the Nigerian music industry. Her first attempt Fimisile, got people’s attention but she couldn’t seem to hold it for long till she came out with Ghen Ghen Love but even that couldn’t get her that far. However her search for Johnny seems to have done the trick. Her Johhny track, fused with high life and afro-pop was a sensational hit and the video released early this year sealed the deal. To our amazement, she further released a French version of Johnny making her the first Nigerian artiste to release a song entirely performed in French. With the video of her new single Tangerine out, Yemi has risen to become one of the few sought after females in the music biz.

 8. PATORANKING: Thanks to the smashing success of Girlie ‘O’, and the previous release of Alubarika, Patoranking has finally gained prominence. The reggae-dancehall singer is enjoying his spot in the limelight especially after the highly popular remix of Girlie ‘O’ where he featured songstress, Tiwa Savage. He also got featured on Seyi Shay’s ‘Murda’. Perhaps it’s his magnetizing patua style as described in the article featured on MTV Iggy that earned him the title of new face of Naija Dance-hall and to further back it, he won City People Award for Dance-hall/Reggae Act of the Year. In terms of collaborations, his latest effort with Olamide on Bora has gotten mostly good reviews. While most would argue that Patoranking is still rising, I’d say he’s ‘fast rising’ and one of the most talked about acts this year…so far.

 7. PHYNO: Phenomenal rapper of Eastern descent, Phyno is most definitely hot. And I’m not just talking about his hair or tattoos, stunnaz and shades. Since causing an uproar with well received tracks like Ghost Mode and Man of the Year (Obago), Phyno has stayed blazing. Breaking his 2014 career year, was the release of his debut, No Guts No Glory - an album that housed now popular tracks like O SetAlobamParcel and Anamachi Versace (not forgetting the aforementioned tracks), which have dominated requests on the airwaves. In the re-wake of Mo’cheddah‘s music career, her choice for a feature on Destinambari, was with none other than Phyno. He’s been swinging action and turning up at several club gigs and Industry Night sessions where he literally shuts things down with his electrifying performances.

6. FLAVOUR: High life king and maestro, Flavour is especially popular for his impeccable looks (like that of the Greek god of thunder, Thor) and of course, his waist-whining artistry. While he’s steady owning the indigenous category with his choice selection of afropop and high life songs, his fans are (not only music lovers) spread across various arts and genres. Flavour has been busy touring countries in Africa as well as the eastern cities in his origin, Nigeria. He bagged the award for Best Live Act at this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards and has been nominated in various categories for the soon-to-be-held Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Sources have it that his present lowkey status is by reason of the hardwork and effort he’s putting into a forth-coming album, yet-to-be-announced. We await in earnest!

5. P-SQUARE: Singing duo, Peter and Paul Okoye aka P-Square are no doubt one of the hottest Nigerian artistes in demand. This is by evidence from their large fan followership in Nigeria, South Africa, Atlanta USA and Canada where they’ve continued to tour and sell out shows. Their tribute video to pop/R&B music legend, Micheal Jackson titled Personally, broke barriers when it crossed borders and attracted the attention of Jermaine Jackson (MJ‘s brother) who openly appreciated their work. Their track of 2014, would be Taste The Money - a song that has enjoyed generous airplay on radio frequencies and has become a fave at various party gigs and not forgetting their feature on eastern rapper, Phyno’s O Set. There’s also been speculations about a collaboration with international rapper, T.I (photos were released to that effect). Bigger things are indeed poppin’!

 4. OLAMIDE: King of YBNL nation, Olamide remains one of the most consistent artistes in Nigeria right now. With his trademark indigenous hip-hop style, he has managed to dominate a major part of the music industry and that is not child’s play considering the short time we’ve known him. Apart from thrilling us this year with several hit tracks; Dansaki, Make Us Proud ft. Wale, Story for the gods, and even more recently, Awon Goons Mi, he’s been featured in so many remixes we’ve lost track. From Lil’ Kesh’s Shoki remix, to the Bora freestyle with Patoranking and Lambebe with Major Banks. Olamide is without a doubt in a class of his own with so much street credibility and fan base.

 3. TIWA SAVAGE: If you call her the reigning Queen of Nigeria’s music industry, you wouldn’t be far from the truth. Aunty Tiwa’s meteoric rise to fame is nothing short of spectacular considering she has just one album to her name. Her efforts in the past year, is still getting her accolades and she hasn’t rested on her oars. Though she has just one single this year Love in Yellow, a love themed song, her collaboration with Patoranking on Girlie O’ Remix and Waje’s Onye not to forget The Mavins’ Dorobucci further cements her immense talent. The release of her Wanted video was a refreshing break from the norm even though it almost went awry due to the controversies surrounding it. That she won MTV Africa Music Award for Best Female Artiste and City People Entertainment Award for Female Musician of the Year as well as performing at The BET Experience is proof of her right to claim a spot on our list.

2. WIZKID: What’s a list like this without a Wizkid? Wizkid has found one too many ways to keep staying above, not only on his game but also on the charts. While we’re still in earnest anticipation of his sophomore studio album with release dates that have shifted almost a full calendar year, Wizkid has continually released songs that stir up frenzies in the media space. He is one of the very few artistes who can boast of a revered online presence, the first Nigerian musician to actually hit over a million followers on Twitter - a feat he achieved in February this year. There’s also been speculations of an international star-studded feature on his upcoming album which may include Wale, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Rihanna (he shared Instagram photos to confirm that). Wizkid has constantly sold out arenas for concerts and tours in and outside of Nigeria. This year, he made the special guest feature for some shows in Tinie Tempah‘s tour of the UK – another star on his General rank.

1. DAVIDO: No doubt the hottest artiste in Africa presently, Davido has proven that he’s not just a rich kid toying with music. While we were still reeling from Skelewu an undeniable hit which fetched him the 2013Headies Song of the Year Award, he put us into frenzy when he released Aye early this year, a fantastic love ballad if I’ve ever heard one. As if that wasn’t enough, his collaboration with South Africa’s Mafikhizolo on Tchelete was the icing on the cake. As of now, Davido is BET’s Best International Act (Africa), Best Male Artiste and Artiste of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards, Ghana Music Awards African Artiste of the Year and Male Musician of the Year at the City People Awards. Is it any wonder he’s at the top of our list? Though he has not released any other single this year, the one he’s done together with his collaborations such as Gallardo with Runtown, Lil Kesh’s Shoki amongst others, together with his awards have earned him the top spot.

We have done incredibly well for ourselves this year as far as music is concerned and as you can imagine selecting just 10 artistes. Our criteria included artiste popularity, quality of music as well as their shows and awards within the first half of 2014.
