Christians in India have come out to protest the attacks on their community and schools.
You will recall that in one of the attacks, a 70 year old nun was raped by robbers.
Reports reaching us say that the rape incident, was just one of the many attacks that hoodlums have carried out on Christian schools.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, had to wade in to the matter by instructing the Delhi police commissioner to investigate the attacks and assured Christians of their safety.
Prime Minister Modi said “Government will not allow any religious group, belonging to the majority or the minority, to incite hatred against others overtly or covertly. Mine will be a government that gives equal respect to all religions.”
Even after the Prime minister’s efforts, there has been more attacks.
Recently, the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom released a report saying that there is an increase of harassment and violence, towards the Christian community in India.
